To support this, Yarra Trams requires the services of a skilled Project Safety Advisor to manage the delivery of projects with respect to the necessary safety, risk, engineering and accreditation requirements.
What the role entailsThis is a great opportunity for a Project Safety Advisor to provide governance throughout the lifecycle of a project ensuring that the identification, assessment, monitoring, communication and control of safety, risk and engineering are consistently applied.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, Substations, the role involves: • Review and develop internal and external project safety documentation to ensure conformity with current regulations and legislative requirements. Providing advice to Project Managers on the conduct of process safety audits;• Supporting Project Managers to setup, facilitate and document Safety in Design workshops; • Undertaking the role as Risk Coordinator at the program level;• Supporting project managers in the development and delivery of specific risk assessments required to support projects in development, planning, delivery and closure phases;• Supporting delivery of a workplan to ensure projects adhere to Engineering Change requirements, integrate Asset Management System and Engineering Management System requirements to be compliant with ISO 15288 and ISO55001;• Ensure workflow processors align with Regulatory requirements and Notification of Change (NoC) and Application for Variation of Accreditation (AVA);• Maintain the project team’s compliance with Yarra Tram authorisation requirements through continuous improvement training.
What you will need for this roleTo be successful in this role, you will have:• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering and / or Safety and / or Risk Management disciplines;• Proven record of achievement and extensive experience in managing the lifecycle, operational and construction risks associated with projects (in excess of $5 million);• Proven understanding of risk management best practice, including ISO 31000: 2009;• A sound understanding of relevant Operational Health and Safety Rules and Procedures, Codes of Practice, Policies and Practices. This includes Safe Design guidance from WorkSafe and the application of safety So Far As Is Reasonably Practicable (SFAIRP);• Proven experience in leading project safety risk assessments including Safety in Design (SiD) activities;• Proven advocacy and promotional skills pertaining to systems and process development within a large and complex organisation;• Well-developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills;• Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to undertake workshop facilitation;• Proficiency in the use of enterprise risk management software including undertaking Monte Carlo probability-based risk analysis;• Demonstrate experience in the application and understanding of relevant Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, ONRSR and Electrical Safety Legislation;• Understanding and experience with the permit to work system would be highly regarded.
