To support this, Yarra Trams has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our Remuneration and Payroll Team.
What the role entailsThis position is a great opportunity for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team and deliver a quality service to our employees. This will involve the administration of end to end payroll services to a workforce of 2,400+ employees located at various sites across Melbourne.
Reporting into the Team Manager, Remuneration and Payroll, the role will involve: • Timely preparation of input data and documentation to facilitate the payment of salaries, wages, allowances, expenses and costing;• Administering staff transfers, promotions, resignations, retirements and other personnel administration related tasks;• Authoritative timekeeping services, support and advice to the Team Manager and/or Personnel Manager on all matters within the position’s duties and areas of expertise;• Interpretation and application of multiple Enterprise Agreements and relevant legislation related to payroll; • Monitoring, analysing and taking action on payroll related queries as they arise in a prompt and efficient manner.• Participating as a team member in specified projects, assisting other team members in their case load and delivering on all assigned tasks. • Report development, preparation and delivery to various management staff, utilizing ADP Payforce and Excel.
What you will need for this roleTo be successful in this role, you will have:• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a payroll team within a shared services environment;• Understanding of HR principles and being able to articulate this to a varied client basis.• Customer service skills and being able to work autonomously and within a team environment;• Solid experience working with an integrated HRIS, ideally ADP Payforce;• Sound understanding of relevant legalisation, taxation and policies as they relate to payroll;• Proven experience in the administration of payroll across a multisite, high volume environment that is complex, and deadline driven;• Demonstrable ability to comprehend multiple Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBA) conditions and apply these to an operational level;• An understanding of the principles of continuous improvement and contribution to the future improvement of the payroll department;• Advanced knowledge of Excel and ability contribute to various reporting tasks as designated;• Proven experience in the preparation and input of staff rosters and developing a positive working relationship with stakeholders.
