To support this, Yarra Trams is looking for experienced Technicians to attend to automatic points and electrolysis maintenance as required under Technical Maintenance Plan, reactive works and projects.
What the role entailsThis is a great opportunity for experienced technicians to contribute to the safe operation and punctuality of tram services and Points Maintenance Programme of work. Reporting to the Team Manager, Points Maintenance, the role specifically involves: • Attending to and fixing faults related to automatic points as reported by our Operations Centre;• Attending to scheduled and reactive response works for the electrolysis systems;• Attending to emergency works as required by Team Manager Points Maintenance; • Undertaking switching of points to meet shunting needs of operation;• Undertaking maintenance and inspection activities as per technical maintenance plan;• Providing input to the automatic points maintenance effectiveness and efficiency programme; • Undertaking field diagnostic to ensure issues are attended to, to avoid disruption to tram services;• Undertaking workshop repair / rehabilitation for automatic points and electrolysis equipment components;• Providing technical expertise/support in the installation of automatic points and electrolysis equipment on site• Commissioning automatic points and electrolysis equipment assets;• Ensuring that materials are available for the implementation of works on site.
What you will need for this roleTo be successful in this tremendous opportunity, you will have:• An electrical trade certificate, including a current Electrical ‘A’ grade licence;• A basic competence in the use of PCs and applicable software application with the Electrical Industry; • Familiarity with discrete relay system, PLC, microprocessor and data logging system used on automatic points installations;• Availability for rostered, shift, after hours emergency calls and project works• Highly developed electrical fitting skills;• Highly developed, interpersonal and communications skills;• Demonstrable ability to read plans and assist in the preparation of specifications and scope of works;• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills; • Must possess a valid Victorian driver’s license.
