To support this, Yarra Trams requires the services of an experienced Logistics Manager to provide logistics outcomes for our Rolling Stock and Infrastructure operating areas.

What the role entails
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Logistics Manager to develop, execute and measure the logistics strategy in alignment to the overarching objectives of the Supply Chain function.

Reporting to Supply Chain Manager, the role involves:
• Ensuring sufficient resources are secured to undertake all of the logistics tasks in accordance with budgets and stakeholder requirements;
• Leadership of ‘daily management’ activities via Visual Control Boards to ensure the correct task assignment and coverage across warehouse related tasks;
• Ensure that all Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) assets are available for warehouse team members, and meet all compliance requirements;
• Development of a Service Level Agreement (SLA) and gaining approval from management and endorsement from stakeholders;
• Reforming the existing practices of logistics; identifying the bottlenecks in the process and implementing changes to streamline operations and drive efficiencies in the process;
• Within the overarching Procurement and Supply Chain direction, developing the logistics strategy across a 3-year horizon that used to evolve the Logistics processes across Yarra Trams.

What you will need for this role
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Undergraduate level Qualifications in Business/ Commerce (major in Supply Chain Management);
• 7-10+ years Supply Chain Management experience, with proven capability in demand planning roles, ideally in a manufacturing / MRO environment;
• Proven experience in leading Logistics functions and experience across related Supply Chain Management functions (Planning, Inventory, Warehouse & Logistics);
• Proven experience in managing teams within logistics function (end-to-end);
• Experience in leading and coordinating inventory stock takes, per cycle counting and Bi-Annual to ensure governance processes are adhered to and sufficient reporting in place to demonstrate part control;
• Strong capabilities in in developing visual management for BAU & Projects progress reviews through the inception of Visual Management Centres;
• Ability to communicate strategies and progress to senior organisational leaders (CEO, Executive Directors & Directors) that can be trusted through the execution of strategy and resulting in clear deliverables.
