Yarra Trams requires the services of a skilled Security Intelligence Analyst to provide data and insight into security threats and risks to assist the business’s strategic aims and focus with the development and implementation of strategies to protect the organisation, our people and customers from security-based threats. Ensures notification compliance to the National Rail Safety Act for security events.

What the role entails

This is a great opportunity for a skilled Security Intelligence Analyst to conduct systems data reporting and in-depth analysis to identify and report on criminal trends, patterns and threats to Yarra Trams people, assets, information and operations and ensure notification and reporting requirements for security events in compliance to the National Rail Safety Act.

Reporting to the Security Advisor, the role involves:

  • Coordinating internal and external security intelligence
  • Ensuring compliance to the National Rail Safety Act through compliance of notifiable security events.
  • Fostering relationships with all relevant internal/external stakeholders to identify new security risks, upskill and source data and identify best practice to assist delivery of role accountabilities.
  • Ensuring compliance to the systems, procedures and processes of the security program designed to maintain the integrity of operations.
  • Managing CCTV requests, both internal and external in accordance with the Yarra Trams policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Working with cross-functional departments to ensure relevant security occurrences are reported and the reporting loop is closed.
  • Supporting investigations into suspected unlawful activity and misconduct where this could impact on the integrity of the business objectives
  • Monitoring the quality and effectiveness of the Security Program by undertaking audits, surveys, and investigations in support of the regulator
  • Actively implementing and supporting the Yarra Trams Safety Management System.
  • Actively support and promoting the SMS
  • Implementing effective targeted and insightful security risk and data reporting within Yarra Trams and between the business and external bodies and agencies.

What you will need for this role

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Desirable: Relevant university degree and/or professional qualifications or experience.
  • Ability to design, develop and implement intelligence collection processes and prepare analytic reports highlighting key issues in a format tailored to the needs of stakeholders
  • Proven record in use of data analytics for proactive security incident prediction
  • Must be skilled in working collaboratively in a team. 
  • Investigative skills.
  • High level of demonstrated attention to detail and ability to deliver complex tasks proficiently within tight time frames
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess well developed interpersonal time management and conflict resolution skills
  • Possess a commitment to achieving continuous improvement in the workplace
  • Must have proven ability in both written and verbal communication
  • Must maintain the strictest confidentiality and integrity at all times
  • Must be skilled in Microsoft software: Project, Visio, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Must be medically fit to perform the functions of the position (mandatory).
