As the operator of Yarra Trams, we bring our international expertise to Melbourne to ensure we deliver safer, more reliable passenger services and performance, while increasing the value of the tram network for Melburnians and the thousands of visitors to our city every day.
To support this, Yarra Trams requires the services of an experienced Program Manager to manage the tram program of projects and activities as required for the delivery of the Metro Tunnel Project.
What the role entailsThis is a great opportunity for an experienced Program Manager to make a significant contribution to our Major Projects Function. Reporting to the Director, Major Projects, the role specifically involves: • Program and project management – delivering the business outcomes to schedule, budget, scope and stakeholder satisfaction; • Conducting planning and recommendation of solutions aligned to business needs; • Coordinating work across multiple functional areas, optimising outcomes, resource usage and scope across each project; • Cross-functional planning and operational readiness of major occupations and disruptions; • Preparing documentation for projects in accordance with the Projects and Franchise Agreement; • Developing and delivering the Metro Tunnel Project Stakeholder Engagement Strategy and Plan in accordance with the Public Affairs Stakeholder Engagement Procedure; • Implementing active engagement, communication and consultation with key external stakeholders.
What you will need for this roleTo be successful in this tremendous opportunity, you will have: • A strong understanding of Program Management processes in the construction or transport field; • Proven experience in managing and coordinating cross-functional teams and tasks; • Sound understanding of engineering and transport requirements; • Proven program and project management skills covering scope control, issue management, risk management, schedule management and financial management; • Proven experience in the administration and project/contract management of projects; • Proven ability to work with a client-based organisation in a government environment; • Demonstrable stakeholder engagement skills to build productive relationships and facilitate negotiation of positive solutions to challenging issues; • Strong computer literacy skills in project management, database and spreadsheet software; • Strong written, verbal communication and inter-personal skills; • A current Victorian driver's licence.
