As the operator of Yarra Trams, we bring our international expertise to Melbourne to ensure we deliver safer, more reliable passenger services and performance, while increasing the value of the tram network for Melburnians and the thousands of visitors to our city every day.

To support this, Yarra Trams requires the services of an experienced Business Resilience Advisor to contribute to and deliver on the strategies and plans designed to develop Yarra Trams’ capability to respond to and recover from events.

What the role entails
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Business Resilience professional to support and enable the business to respond and recover to any event that may affect it and protect Yarra Tram’s passengers, staff, infrastructure, assets, information and operations.

Reporting to the Manager, Security and Business Resilience, the role specifically involves:
• Coordinating the internal Business Resilience Program;
• Supervising all systems and processes of the Resilience Program designed to develop the business capability to respond and recover from events;
• Monitoring the quality and effectiveness of the Resilience Program by conducting regular audits, surveys, exercises and system tests;
• Monitoring compliance with Emergency Management legislation;
• Working with cross-functional departments to ensure relevant activations are reviewed in accordance with the Business Resilience Program;
• Providing specialist advice to line management in functions;
• Liaising with contractors and other external sources to ensure Yarra Trams Business Resilience Program is in line with Best Practice;
• Actively supporting the Yarra Trams Safety Management System.

What you will need for this role
To be successful in this tremendous opportunity, you will have:
• Relevant university degree and/or professional qualifications or experience.
• Experience in leading business resilience programs;
• An excellent understanding of risk methodology with experience in implementing risk management within an operational workplace;
• Demonstrable experience in the application and understanding of legislation, standards, etc;
• Experience in writing, conducting or facilitating large multi-level emergency exercises;
• Previous relevant Crisis Management experience and knowledge;
• Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, audits and task observations;
• Well-developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills and the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders;
• Proficiency in Microsoft software: Project, Visio, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
