To deliver on these exciting new challenges, Yarra Trams requires the services of an experienced Compliance Engineer to manage our Infrastructure department’s compliance requirements for the Franchise Agreement.What the role entailsThis position is a great opportunity for an experienced Compliance Engineer to ensure appropriate systems and processes are in place to support our Infrastructure department managers in meeting contractual asset data compliance requirements.
Reporting to the Manager, Field Support, this role involves: • Defining and managing processes to support data-driven decision making across all Infrastructure teams via MAXIMO to enable maintenance planning to be robust and consistent with Service Delivery and overall business aims;• Providing an internal monitoring, audit and analysis role to ensure appropriate application and compliance of Asset Management System;• Programming and enabling the review (including reporting) of Technical Maintenance Plans within the asset management data base (MAXIMO);• Preparing and reviewing reports regarding the performance of the FIMP and Annual Infrastructure Works Plan (AIWP) with respect to physical and financial performance of the Infrastructure Maintenance groups and provide possible mitigation to address shortfalls;• Representing Infrastructure at internal and external stakeholder meetings associated with contractual compliance;• Leading continuous improvement of Infrastructure department’s use of asset management system and driving innovation through research and gap analysis of existing asset management and compliance methods, tools and systems.
What you will need for this roleTo be successful in this opportunity, you will have:• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline and extensive proven experience in engineering or transport within a multi-functional organisation;• Industry-body recognition, eg. Chartered Professional Engineer status, Lean Six-Sigma, or other equivalents;• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of process management, asset management and reliability concepts;• Demonstrable experience in compiling and writing technical reports in plain English;• Proven experience in initiating and implementing significant change within the workplace and organising a diverse variety of functions;• Proven ability to lead others to achieve team goals using appropriate interpersonal styles and methods;• Strong communication and persuasive skills to deal effectively internally and externally at the most senior levels;• Well-developed strategic and operational planning skills, data analysis and report writing skills;• Competence in the use of PC’s and various software applications;• Competence in the application of industry standard reliability and process improvement tools, eg RCA, RCM, Lean Six Sigma;• Practical Knowledge of Asset Management Systems.
