In September last year, the Victorian Government has awarded Keolis Downer the contract to run Yarra Trams until at least 2024. To deliver on these exciting new challenges, Yarra Trams requires the services of an experienced Program Planning Manager to coordinate planning activities for our Infrastructure Directorate and support the development and management of the Annual Infrastructure Works Plan.

What the role entails
This position is a great opportunity for an experienced Program Planning Manager to ensure that our infrastructure works are planned in an optimized way and realise opportunities in delivery, strengthening strategies and meeting maintenance compliance and Franchise Agreement commitments.

Reporting to the Manager, Field Support, this role involves:
• Developing and recommending the infrastructure planning strategy;
• Coordinating the development and implementation of infrastructure planning systems;
• Aggregating information relative to risk and assessing the functional risk profile in order to identify and implement risk mitigation strategies;
• Providing expert advice to the Manager, Field Support on support issues arising from a range of initiatives;
• Specifying Planning system requirements to enable effective maintenance and projects planning;
• Assessing risks, analysing them and putting controls in place to prevent injuries;
• Developing a reliable relationship between Infrastructure and other functions;
• Supporting the Financial management of department budget.

What you will need for this role
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant business or technical discipline;
• Proven experience in managing planning and scheduling activities associated with a large asset base;
• Detailed knowledge of Project / Maintenance Management, Planning and Reporting systems (ie: Primavera P6, Maximo, etc);
• Extensive experience in planning, scheduling systems, resource allocation and optimization;
• Extensive experience in dealing across multiple functions and coordinating activities;
• Experience in quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies;
• Well developed, interpersonal and communications skills;
• Analytical, evaluation and decision-making skills;
• Ability to prepare reports and data mine to provide optimal solutions;
• Competence in the use of PC’s and various software applications, including project management and spread sheet software.
