In September last year, the Victorian Government has awarded Keolis Downer the contract to run Yarra Trams until at least 2024. To deliver on these exciting new challenges, Yarra Trams requires the services of a Graduate Project Manager to ensure a ‘value for money’ outcome is delivered to maximise efficiency within the agreed budget, scope and timeframe including Legislative Standards to enhance the assets and increase operational efficiency.
What the role entailsThis position is a great opportunity for an experienced Graduate Project Manager to assist the Project Manager on a range of technical projects that include but not limited to new equipment, capital works, asset improvement works including annual works program.
Reporting to the Project Manager – Infrastructure Projects, the role involves:• Preparing Project documents including but not limited to the Project Brief, Project Management Plan, Contract and Tender Documents;• Preparing reports in the manner and at intervals required by the Project Manager• Good organisation, communication and negotiation skills;• Demonstrating good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills;• Having good written and verbal communication as well as inter-personal skills;• Having the ability to coordinate and liaise with external and internal stakeholders under the leadership of the Project Manager• Using strong computer literacy skills in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and Powerpoint.
What you will need for this roleTo be successful in this role, you will have:• A tertiary qualification in a relevant Civil, Engineering discipline and/or associated experience in a project and/or construction environment.• Basic knowledge of the application of the Project Management Systems • Understanding of Project Management Processes Demonstrable experience in compiling and writing technical reports in plain English• Basic understanding of Contracts Standards incl. AS2124, AS 4000 and AS 4122• Demonstrated experience in undertaking project supervision during the occupation works• Basic Knowledge in project administration and project/contract management of technical projects • Basic knowledge of Road Traffic Regulations particularly relating to tram operations;• Basic understanding of the relevant Acts, regulations and standards that impact upon a project including OH&S, Rail Safety Accreditation
