Keolis Downer is the proud operator of Yarra Trams, the oldest and largest light rail network in the world. Since 2009, Keolis Downer has significantly invested in Melbourne’s tram network and community. In September last year, the Victorian Government has awarded Keolis Downer the contract to run Yarra Trams until at least 2024. This is an exciting time for the team at Yarra Trams as we begin delivery of our new franchise term.

In the next six years we will continue to bring our international expertise to Melbourne to ensure we continue to deliver even better, safer, more reliable passenger services and performance, while increasing the value of the tram network for Melburnians and the thousands of visitors to our city every day.

To deliver on these exciting new challenges, Yarra Trams requires a Master Timetable Team Manager to review and implement the necessary changes to the base tram timetable to match the changing environmental conditions.

What the role entails

This position is a great opportunity for an experienced Master Timetable Team Manager to provide a safe efficient and cost-effective timetable, whilst meeting customer expectations and contractual obligations.

Reporting to the Principal Advisor, Master Timetable, the role involves:

  • Recommending tram service levels to the Principal Advisor, Master Timetable in consultation with network development, marketing, asset development and operations;
  • Providing recommendations on tram service levels to meet the expectations of Yarra Trams customers;
  • Providing input to the Principal Advisor, Master Timetable for talent identification system;
  • Contributing to service strategic planning in order to manage a pro-active service development;
  • Communicating with all internal departments revisions contained in regards to Master Time Table changes to ensure company can meet new requirements;
  • Providing advice for relevant departments in regard to the implementation of new running times, new routes, and crew.

What you will need for this role

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a numeracy degree and/or demonstrated industry experience;
  • Proven experience in the use of Hastus scheduling software;
  • Administrative experience within an operational environment;
  • Demonstrated understanding of discrimination, harassment and workplace bullying issues;
  • Good knowledge of scheduling system, AVM system and their operating environments;
  • Operational understanding of public transport systems;
  • Experience in customer focused services;
  • Knowledge of communications methods and effective stakeholder engagement.
