Keolis Downer is the proud operator of Yarra Trams, the oldest and largest light rail network in the world. Since 2009, Keolis Downer has significantly invested in Melbourne’s tram network and community. In September last year, the Victorian Government awarded Keolis Downer the contract to run Yarra Trams until at least 2024. To assist us in delivering these exciting new challenges, Yarra Trams is looking for an experienced Field Support Manager to plan and scope infrastructure works, monitor and review performance, provide external and internal reporting and centralise training and documentation for our Infrastructure Directorate.

What the role entails
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Manager to centralise our works planning, reporting and documentation to meet our Infrastructure Directorate franchise, compliance, regulatory, corporate, finance and internal requirements.

Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure, the role will involve:
• Delivering effective works planning enabling efficient utilisation of external and internal resources as per the agreed works delivery targets;
• Delivering timely and quality external and internal reporting as per agreed KPI’s;
• Leading the development, coordination and implementation of infrastructure documentation (standards, policies, procedures, work instructions, SWMS) to meet safety, compliance and delivery requirements;
• Developing customer and stakeholder engagement plans and delivering excellence in this area;
• Monitoring, controlling and reporting progress on a regular basis on various operational matters, system admin reports, budgets and initiatives;
• Fostering a continuous improvement culture.

What you will need for this role
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant business or technical discipline (desirable);
• Relevant experience in managing a planning department and/or function or project and/or maintenance engineering experience gained in a delivery/operational role;
• Proven ability to manage scheduling and planning activities for large and complex projects;
• Detailed knowledge of planning, assets, reporting, documentation and training systems;
• Extensive experience in dealing across multiple functions and coordinating activities;
• Experience in quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies;
• Demonstrable ability to initiate and implement change to meet the business needs, and work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment;
• Well developed, interpersonal and communications skills;
• Competence in the use of PC’s and various software applications, including project management and spread sheet software.
